The housekeeping was impeccable, the decor superb, and the bed linen of great quality. the hosts, Gareth and Wendy, made us feel incredibly welcome and were full of great recommendations for exploring the Isle of Wight. the full English breakfast was excellent, with delicious homemade museli and fresh fruit salad. the location of the lodge was fantastic, with easy access to Shanklin's Old Village, Chine, and Theatre. As a travel enthusiast from the UK, I have to say, Appley Lodge is one of the best places I've stayed in while visiting the UK. the breakfast room was newly refurbished and offered a lovely view of the garden, perfect for starting the day off right. the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Being a lover of history and heritage, I appreciated the connection to Quarr Abbey and the royal connections in the area. the monastery's influence added a unique charm to the lodge, making it a truly special place to stay. the rooms were individually decorated to a high standard and had all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. From the excellent breakfast to the comfortable rooms and welcoming hosts, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on the Isle of Wight. I highly recommend Appley Lodge to anyone looking for a charming and cozy accommodation in Shanklin. Five stars all around!
